The International Meditation Teachers & Therapists Association

About Us

The IMTTA provides Holistic Training Organizations, all over the world, with ethical, industry accredited, evidence based, human focused and high quality training materials, courses and resources, with a strong focus on personal empowerment and Meditation as a healing therapy.

Our courses are evidence based, non-sectarian (non-denominational) and provide a solid training platform for professional therapists, focused on effective, self-empowering modalities and life skills.

We do not provide training courses directly to students. However, we provide curriculum, resources and support for colleges and training organizations and we can point you toward qualified Meditation teachers and internationally accredited colleges where you can study our courses.

The IMTTA Meditation Teacher, Meditation Therapy and Holistic Counsellor Training Courses, created by Isabelle Cunningham and Kerry Doolan, are offered through a variety of colleges all over the world and provide certificate, diploma, advanced diploma and postgraduate level training for Meditation teachers, Meditation therapists, holistic counsellors, chair yoga instructors, holistic life coaches, mind-body therapists, integrative create arts therapists, myofascial trigger point therapy consultants and holistic stress management consultants.

Our Ethos

Protecting.

The IMTTA is focused on ensuring reputable, dedicated, ethical and well trained professional Meditation teachers and therapists are easily accessible to all people who seek to explore the practice of Meditation as a healing modality and a pathway to personal and spiritual development.

Respecting.

The IMTTA is nondenominational and non-sectarian. Meditation is a powerful pathway to healing, personal development and spiritual growth for all people, regardless of their cultural, religious or spiritual beliefs.

Healing.

The IMTTA passionately supports and promotes awareness that the practice of Meditation is a superior healing modality that is free, natural and safe.

Meditation is suitable for all people and not only has a history in all cultures that is thousands of years old, but has also been extensively studied over the past thirty years and proven to facilitate astoundingly powerful positive changes in the body and the mind. These scientifically supported changes significantly contribute to healing, better health and greater happiness.

Sharing.

The IMTTA is dedicated to supporting education and growth in the practice of Meditation throughout the world, as the single most powerful tool in bringing peace, balance and good health to individuals from all walks of life, and as a result, peace on earth through awakening people to their true compassionate nature.

Envisaging.

The IMTTA views the practice of Meditation as a healing modality that fundamentally supports all other healing modalities because, while all illness is linked to chemical activity within the body, which influences the development and wellbeing of our cells, Meditation facilitates the healthy balance of neurochemicals and contributes to the development of strong, healthy cells and effective immunology.

Stress is now being recognized as a major contributor to disease and premature death. Meditation has been proven, beyond any doubt, to be the most effective, safest and readily accessible means of reducing, controlling and even eliminating negative stress.

Supporting.

The IMTTA Meditation Teachers and Therapist training course curriculum provides student with:

  • Evidence based, ethical training that prepares teachers and therapists to have a deep understanding of the benefits of Meditation.
  • A vast variety of Meditation techniques and styles; both contemporary and traditional.
  • An understanding of individual learning styles to assist their own students to find the Meditation practice that best suits them and their lifestyles.
  • Holistic counselling skills, enabling them to support their students through any challenges which may arise for them, as they learn to incorporate Meditation into their lives.
  • Professionalism and ethics; so they can offer a more valuable experience to their own students and clients.
